Monday
We didn't take any pictures today but it was a great day!
Today we started our normal morning routine. Students learned how to do morning math. We also did our first lesson in Every Day Math, Numbers all Around. We found numbers in TONS of places.
Mr. McConnell came to visit our classroom today. He gave us the student code of conduct. It has all our school rules in it. It also have the consequences for rules that are broken.
In writing we spent time working on a pre-assessment. All the students wrote letters to me. This year we are going to learn how to write a letter. We will also learn how to use great word choice and conventions to make our writing interesting and fun.
See you all tomorrow!

Friday!
What a great first week of school. We had tons of fun today. We made name Glyphs, took a fact test and spelling test, AND we explored our class library of books. All the students filled their buckets with great books to read.
We also learned how to use a balance scale. We used the scale to weigh different types of seeds. Check out some pictures from our science and math lesson today.

A Bucket Filling Day!
Today we read a book called "Have you Filled A Bucket Today?"
The students then wrote about different ways they fill other peoples 'buckets'. They learned an activity called musical parnters and give one take one. They used these strategies to share the ideas they wrote. They also wrote down ways they were bucket dippers.
At the end we wrote down specific ways we could be bucket fillers on the playgroud, bus, lunchroom, bathrooms, assemblies, table groups, computer lab and in our classroom

Our First Day!
Today we started our day by creating a web out of yarn. What happened when people dropped their string? What about when we all lifted our string? Tell your family about the web we made and why we made it.
We have so many supplies! Thank you all! We can always use more tissues. :)
After lunch today we worked on science activity. We had tons of fun. The pictures are below.
