NEWS UPDATE - Aug. 21st

Read the School Skywriter - http://www.amphi.com/~psky/email_page3.htm

It was a great week this week!

We are finally getting in the routine of everything. A few kids forgot to blog on Thursday night so I asked them to do it over the weekend. Just a reminder that Monday and Thursday spelling choices homework does NOT need to be printed or emailed. Please just sign their assignment paper indicating that they completed it. If you would like a head start on next weeks words they are posted. Just go to Unit 2.

Don’t forget to sign your child’s assignment sheet. They need to return it on Monday.

Ask your child some questions about this week!
What is a number grid?
What are some of the things they found inside their math tool kit and student reference book?
What weighs more a bean seed or a bean seed that has been watered? How do you know?
What are the steps in the life cycle of a Saguaro Cactus?
What is a setting?
What sound does long i make?
What is a topic sentence?
What does the “e” icon on the desktop of the computer stand for?
How do you add a website to your favorites menu?
What are 3 ways to be safe online?

Some Business for Parents:
Book Orders - Due by next Wednesday Please order online using the link in the section to the right of this blog.
T-shirts - Please send in money and the order form to Heylie Eigen as soon as possible. Make checks out to her please.
Pictures - Pictures are next Wednesday. Please send in the packets on that day or before.
Grades online-Grades are online. You can access them using your last name and the 8 digit number I gave you at parent night. Also please help your child memorize that number for computer lab.
Assignment Sheets - Each day your child lists that things we do during the day on their assignment sheet. They also write HW next to anything that is homework. When you ask your child about their day you can reference the assingment sheet to see what we did.
Spelling Choices - Your child needs to complete 2 spelling choices each week, one on Monday and one on Thursday. If you would like your child to complete more in order to study that is fine. When you child completes them all they have to do is write the number of the choice they completed on their assingment sheet. When you sign the sheet that lets me know they completed it. They do not have to turn anything in for these.

As I get more questions I will add to this blog so everyone can take advatage of the answers. I hope this clears things up!

THANKS!!
Carol Tracy
