Painted Sky is having a “Nature Shop”
You are going to visit our online Nature Shop!

When you are working at the Nature Shop you will have many different jobs. Your goal is to try and help our customers
- spend all their money
- get all the items they want
- be happy!
1. You have a kindergartener with $10 to spend. Kindergarteners like LOTS of things so they want to get at least 5 items. Help them pick out the at least 5 things they could get for under $10. They can get more than 5 and you want them to spend as much money as you can.
2. There is a 5th grader that has $25. The have already pick out some items. Estimate how much they have spent so far so you know how much more they can spend. Here what is in their basket
- wind chime
- shell bracelet
- $15 bookends
Estimate how much money do they have left to spend?
Now help them pick out items to help them spend the rest of their money.
3. One of your friends from 3rd grade is shopping. They have $15 to spend. So far they have …
- A grab bag
- sand animal
- bottle of silver
Estimate how much money do they have left to spend?

About Me
This is my 9th year teaching in the Amphitheater School District and my 11th year teaching. I taught 3rd grade at Painted Sky for 7 years. Before teaching there I taught music for 2 years in TUSD at Henry. I am so happy to be a Walker Wolf this year!
I attended college at the University of Arizona and have my bachelors in Education. I am working on my master’s degree this year also at the University of Arizona. GO WILDCATS!!! I am a huge AZ basketball fan. I am an Amphitheater High School grad and I attended middle school at La Cima. In November 09 I achieved my National Board Teaching Certification. I have teaching endorsements in Early Childhood education and Second Language Learning.
I love living in Arizona and have since 1993. I was born in Phoenix but only lived there for 2 1/2 months. Before moving back to Arizona I lived in Nebraska for 9 years and attended Westridge Elementary and Elkhorn Middle School. My extended family lives on the east coast in The Washington DC area. As a kid my family visited there every summer and spent a week at the beach in North Carolina. I love the beach. I still get to go back and visit all the time.
I live in the middle of town, near the U of A. I live with my VERY cute puppy Oreo who is 4. My mom, dad and brother live here in Tucson also. My mom sometimes comes to school and helps in the classroom and my Dad and brother may come by too. My birthday is December 3!
I love monkeys, music and smiley faces. My favorite color is green. I enjoy listening to music on the radio and listening to live bands. Music is one of my favorite things to do. I love to sing songs and play the guitar, flute and keyboard. Many of you know that I play in a band on the weekends!

1.I learned that rocks are not stupid and boring and that there is lots of different types of rocks because i use to think that rocks are boring intil i learned about rocks.

ReplyDeleteI loved working at the tables at the nature shop. The thing that I didn't like was I didn't often get to work at the tables. The thing I learned is to always show the costomer what you have.
