Student Letter:
Welcome to Miss Tracy’s third grade Monkey Class! My name is Miss Tracy and I am your 3rd grade teacher. You can probably tell from the name of our class that I love monkeys.
I hope you all have had a wonderful summer break. Mine has been very busy. I taught summer school for the whole month of June. The 4th of July was the start of my break. I had a nice bar-b-que at my parents house and spent the day swimming in the pool. Break didn’t last long because the next week I spent a week at Technology Camp learning how to do lots of cool computer programs with kids. I hope we can try some this year.
Finally I got to go on a vacation. I traveled to Pensacola, FL and spend 3 days camping on the beach. I got to ride in a boat and go deep sea fishing. We rode over 8 miles out into the ocean and I caught 3 fish. It was so much fun. I also visited New Orleans and was able to see how the city was rebuilding from Hurricane Katrina, which hit New Orleans 4 years ago. My favorite part of New Orleans was listening to all the music. I love to listen to music and live band and I also play music myself. When I am not teaching this is one of my favorite things to do.
I have a very exciting year planned for us and can’t wait to meet you. We will begin our 3rd grade journey together on Thursday by getting to know each other. We will also begin learning about plants and desert. This unit is guaranteed to be filled with tons of fun and learning.

About Me
This is my 9th year teaching in the Amphitheater School District and my 11th year teaching. I taught 3rd grade at Painted Sky for 7 years. Before teaching there I taught music for 2 years in TUSD at Henry. I am so happy to be a Walker Wolf this year!
I attended college at the University of Arizona and have my bachelors in Education. I am working on my master’s degree this year also at the University of Arizona. GO WILDCATS!!! I am a huge AZ basketball fan. I am an Amphitheater High School grad and I attended middle school at La Cima. In November 09 I achieved my National Board Teaching Certification. I have teaching endorsements in Early Childhood education and Second Language Learning.
I love living in Arizona and have since 1993. I was born in Phoenix but only lived there for 2 1/2 months. Before moving back to Arizona I lived in Nebraska for 9 years and attended Westridge Elementary and Elkhorn Middle School. My extended family lives on the east coast in The Washington DC area. As a kid my family visited there every summer and spent a week at the beach in North Carolina. I love the beach. I still get to go back and visit all the time.
I live in the middle of town, near the U of A. I live with my VERY cute puppy Oreo who is 4. My mom, dad and brother live here in Tucson also. My mom sometimes comes to school and helps in the classroom and my Dad and brother may come by too. My birthday is December 3!
I love monkeys, music and smiley faces. My favorite color is green. I enjoy listening to music on the radio and listening to live bands. Music is one of my favorite things to do. I love to sing songs and play the guitar, flute and keyboard. Many of you know that I play in a band on the weekends!

She is kind of a middle size dog. you can see her picture at the bottom of the page. I don't have any sisters but I have one big brother named Kevin. I can't wait for 3rd grade too. ReplyDeleteMiss Tracy..Funny looking for my sons homework I had read your blog and others.. I want to add to comments of our family Diamond Chona and Joseph that are so excited to have Joseph go to painted sky for a his first full year. To add our family is into basketball ,sports and music as well..""""Dont let joseph fool you with his intervert ways """..He expresses himself singing and playing instruments . His favotite instuments to play are the drums and organ although he is learning guitar from dad and had his own yamaha .He has strong vocals and loves plain ol rock n roll> Joseph has strong rythm and sometimes not knowing chords he can fake his way through on rythm alone. He is very talented on computors since he was 3 years old and will ask questions that he already knows to strike up a conversation of intellect..although Joseph is a child with older brothers and sisters his social skills are with adults as his siblings are much older. Joseph was born in the Phillipines and has a big family which he has not seen for 5 years. although he remembers playing with daddy on the beach and collecting shells,. In the future our family will go back to the islands to our resort home and retire.
