Monday - I hope you had a great day today with Mrs. Welch.

Morning Work: As always students completed line 1 of Read 4 Today and Write 4 Today!
Quick Read: It is now week 5. Do you Believe in Ghosts? ***What did our story say a ghost town was? ***
Quick Write: Students learned how to capitalize proper nouns like song titles, find helping verbs, add commas, and choose the correct form of your (you're)

Spelling! Today students looked a different ways to spell the long o sound. Don't forget to study your words. Try playing a game at http://www.spellingcity.com/

We had library today! Students were able to check out new books if they returned theirs. If they forgot they can bring them in on Wednesday and check out new books at the end of the day.

Reading: The Rattlesnake and the Mouse was our story for today. Students were asked to read the story and answer some questions about it. Then they got to write a new ending.

Writing: Today in writing the students made a walk in the desert book. They were able write about what the desert looks like and draw pictures to go with their writing.

Math Centers: Students were taught how to play Addition top it and Beat the Calculator. Ask them about the games!

Character Traits - Today the students created Responsibility Treasure Boxes. We have been focusing on being responsible. Today students decorated a tissue box or envelope. Inside they put slips of paper which had different ways that they could be responsible.
